Northern Territory waterfowl hunting season 2024 dates
Published Tue 18 Jun 2024
For our hunting members, as one door closes, another opens!
Although the waterfowl hunting seasons have drawn to a close in Victoria and Tassie, and will do so on June 30 in South Australia, the NT Government has announced the waterfowl hunting season dates for the Territory, which are:
- From Thursday, August 15 on private land; and,
- From Wednesday, September 25 on public land including hunting reserves.
Whether on private or public land, hunters have a permit to hunt for magpie geese and waterfowl.
The bag limits per day will be seven magpie geese and 10 other waterfowl of the permitted species – Pacific black duck, grey teal, hardhead (also known as white-eyed duck), maned duck (also known as wood duck), wandering whistling duck (also known as water whistle duck), plumed whistling duck (also known as grass whistle duck) and pink-eared duck.
