Victorian fox bounty increases

Published Thu 26 Sep 2024

For the first time in 22 years, Victoria’s fox bounty has increased – from $10 per scalp to $14 – in a move aimed at encouraging increased control of these pests which cost farmers tens of millions of dollars in lost stock and also kill hundreds of millions of native animals, birds and reptiles every year.
Foxes are declared as established pest animals in Victoria, and effective fox management requires an integrated approach using all suitable management tools – including hunting.
More information on the Victorian Fox and Wild Dog Bounty can be found on the Agriculture Victoria website.  The terms and conditions can be found here.

Meanwhile, the wild dog component of the Victorian Fox and Wild Dog Bounty will cease at the end of the current collection season. The last chance for participants to submit wild dog body parts will be at Maffra on October 16, 2024.

The Victoria Fox and Wild Dog Bounty is now online. You can create an account here.
